Zombies will fill the streets again this year! The Downtown Development Authority and Rome-Floyd Parks & Recreation Authority are teaming up to host the zombie run and block party with two of our favorite bands: SATIN FINISH presented by HARBIN CLINIC and CURIOSITY SHOPPE presented by COOSA VALLEY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION. Dress up or just come hang out with your family and friends! The event will be held in the 200, 300 & 400 blocks of Broad Street. The KID ZONE is in the 400 block and sponsored by HARBIN CLINIC. The Kiddie train will run between 6-8pm in the 400 block, also sponsored by HARBIN CLINIC. There will also be an activity area in the 200 block sponsored by COOSA VALLEY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION. Broad Street will close to traffic in the 200, 300 & 400 blocks at 3pm. The street will reopen at 11pm. No coolers are allowed inside the event area. Adult beverages may be purchased from restaurants within the three blocks and taken onto the street with an armband issued by the restaurant.
Before the block party, run the zombie infested 5K or 2 Mile Health Walk through Downtown Rome. Costume contests with prizes will be held before the race. Race awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place male and female in all age groups will be held immediately after the race.
