The DDA works year round to bring family-friendly and fun events to the heart of the city in Downtown Rome. These events are sponsored by the Business Improvement District, which is made up of downtown business and property owners.
Downtown Impact Grant
These funds are intended to support organizations in production of events that enhance quality of life and promote economic growth in Downtown Rome.
This year, the DDA awarded six grants of $1,000 to Rome International Film Festival, Going Caching, Rome Little Theatre, Rome Symphony Orchestra, Schnauzerfest, Shakespeare Festival, and Christmas Back Home. These events draw a significant tourism impact, with most visitors staying in the hotels and shopping and eating downtown. The Downtown Development Authority has enjoyed seeing the impact these events have been able to make in Downtown Rome and plans to continue these efforts.
