Parking for the 200 block of Broad Street has just gotten easier. The City of Rome has installed a METER! With the wonderful growth of business downtown, parking must grow as well. Becky Smyth, Parking Manager said, “This is a wonderful opportunity for the development of additional parking to meet the supply of demand for public parking to the patrons of business within the area.” The West 1st Street Parking lot was previously reserved for permit holders or employees of downtown, but has now been converted to a public pay lot.
The technologically advanced meter will benefit the public by allowing multiple payment methods. The meter will accept credit cards (Visa or MasterCard), debit cards, cash, and in the coming weeks pay by app. Users can go online to ParkMobile.com, create an account and pay via their smartphone. When parking, please locate your space number, identify the nearest pay station, enter your space number and select your payment option according to the directions at the pay station.
Where is the Multi-Space Parking Meter?
