The Office of Downtown Development is excited to announce Dogs Day Out, an adoption and fundraising event in partnership with P.A.W.S on National Puppy Day! On Tuesday, March 23rd from 4pm-6pm at the Town Green P.A.W.S will be hosting an adoption event where you can meet potential furry friends and sign up to be eligible for adoption. The Office of Downtown Development will be kicking off a fundraising campaign to install dog sanitization stations throughout Historic Downtown and the River District.
Your dog could be the first ever Downtown Rome Dog Mayor! Stop by the event to register and pay the $20 entry fee and staff will take your dog’s photo. Photos will be posted on Downtown Rome, GA’s Facebook for the election. The winner will be announced and contacted by April 27th. The dog with the most likes will be elected the Downtown Rome Dog Mayor and be the honorary sponsor of the first dog sanitization station. All proceeds from this contest will go towards the dog sanitization stations and P.A.W.S. Feel free to dress up your pup!
The first station will be installed at the Town Green. Donations will be accepted that day and sponsorships are also available. An organization or downtown business can sponsor a station $250. Details for sponsorship will be available on the Downtown Rome website. Cash, checks, and PayPal are accepted forms of payment.
Head downtown on Tuesday, March 23rd with your dog to check out the new dog sanitization stations, enter to be the next dog mayor, and play with other furry friends!
