As many of us know, summer in Georgia can be brutal from the ever-rising temperatures to the humidity. While we wish we could be at the pool every day, there are other ways to escape the summer heat. Downtown Rome has plenty of choices when it comes to cold treats to help beat the heat.
City Creamery, 225 Broad St #100
The City Creamery offers a large selection of sweets, from hand scooped ice cream and milkshakes, to bubble tea and a full coffee bar. In addition, the City Creamery has frozen yogurt options, with an abundance of toppings. There is no wrong choice when it comes to the treats offered by the City Creamery. With an endearing candy shop aesthetic, the City Creamery is a great place to relax inside and away from the heat.
Frios Gourmet Pops, 202 Broad St
Situated at the corner of Broad Street and 2nd Ave, Frios grabs a customer’s attention with its lively and spacious venue, including a mural of Downtown Rome. Even better than the interior, however, is the multitude of cold popsicles. From flavors like Peaches ‘n Cream to Key Lime Pie, the popsicles at Frios are not your regular popsicles. The flavors change with the season, so you definitely do not want to miss what they have in store for the summer. Frios is a perfect place for a large group to avoid the heat and get that photo you have always wanted!
Honeymoon Bakery, 228 Broad St
Besides the delicious cookies and cakes that Honeymoon Bakery has to offer, they also have sweet gelato in the shop. Honeymoon Bakery has a homey feel inside and plenty of seating to take a break from the heat and share a rich (and cold) dessert with friends. The employees are always ready to suggest their favorite flavors and provide samples for you to have an enjoyable experience.
Kaleido-Sno, 414 Broad St
Kaleido-Sno gives a one-of-a-kind experience with a sweet snow cone and fun New Orleans-inspired interior. With over 100 flavors, Kaleido-Sno has the delicious shaved ice that is perfect for the hot summer day. There are also plenty of sugar free options available too. You definitely do want miss out on the excitement of Kaleido-Sno when in Downtown Rome.
Mountains Ice Cream, 231 Broad St Suite B
Mountains Ice Cream provides various unique ice cream flavors that make it stand out as an ice cream shop. The delicious smell of freshly made waffle cones fills the shop as customers drool over the 20+ hand-dipped ice cream flavors. Mountains Ice Cream provides a cozy place to cool down with several one-of-a-kind ice cream options.
Swift & Finch, 600 Broad St
Ice cream or popsicles are not really your thing? That is why we are including the coffee shop Swift & Finch. Not only does it provide iced coffee and frappuccinos, but Swift & Finch also has several fruit smoothie options. Located across from City Hall, Swift & Finch provides cold drinks and a chill place to hang out with friends.
The Herb Shop on Broad, 103 Broad St
For another cold option other than ice cream or a popsicle, The Herb Shop on Broad also has smoothies. The Herb Shop mainly has strawberry and blueberry flavors, but the service also provides different nutrients according to what you request. Other than smoothies, the Herb Shop on Broad offers a place to learn about alternative health remedies and therapies.
