Downtown Rome hosts a series of free, family events the first Saturday of the month, May – Sept.


May 6 –  Downtown Saturday – Street Festival
Featuring the Ellen Axson Wilson Artwalk, International Festival and Keys to Rome

Downtown Rome kicks off a full season of FREE, family-friendly events beginning with Downtown Saturday this May. Art meets culture where you can taste samples of international flavors, see performances from all around the globe and shop works produced by local artists.

The day will also feature the roll-out of a new public art and music piano program. Downtown retailers located throughout the street festival will host sidewalk sales and restaurants will feature their international dishes to help celebrate the day.

Location: The street festival will encompass Broad Street from the Cotton Block to the 400 Block. Broad Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from 12:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

June 3 –  Downtown Saturday – Town Green
Featuring the Rome Shakespeare Festival

The Rome Shakespeare Festival will present the Twelfth Night with open seating on the Town Green.

Location: The Town Green is located along the urban riverfront at the corner of W 3rd Ave and W 1st St.

July 1 –  Downtown Saturday – Street Festival
Featuring summer time fun.

August 5 –  Downtown Saturday – Town Green
Featuring a lawn concert on the green.

Going Caching returns to Rome, GA for everyone’s favorite series of interactive, themed geocaching events. This year’s theme: Spy Games
